ART-2

The existing condition was defined by a massive retail mall. The two towers that were designed exist as four planned towers for the site – one a business hotel and the other an office building. In order to articulate the difference between the towers, one was broken into four sections and the other into two. Through applying a similar approach to each, a strong connection was established. At the same time, through orienting toward the city grid, mecca, and true north, a powerful tie was established to meaningful elements for those who might inhabit the building. The building was also deeply connected to the site by detailing the façade with Krion that would be capable

of withstanding the sandstorms and general inclement weather while providing shade and views.
