ICUM

LA

PAZ

El Corazon de la Paz and Instituto Culinario de México (ICUM) work together to form an urban complex – with ICUM serving as the anchor institution of the site. This relationship is made possible through the vision of the client who is the owner of both ICUM and a large adjacent site that was once a quarry. As the most prestigious culinary school in Mexico that provides talent for some of the top Michelin Starred restaurants around the world, the client wanted a new home for the school that would reflect its growing prestige on the world stage. As an architect and builder himself, he wanted the school to embody a unique architectural vision that would become tied to the

identity of the school in the future. At the same time, he wanted to use the new school to active the surrounding site and serve as an anchor for an ambitious new urban development that would become an attractive focal point within the city of Puebla, Mexico and a genuine new destination.
